What is BoxGrove Country Retreat?
BoxGrove is a picturesque, working family farm and vineyard just 2.5 hours from west of Sydney.
Our property was established in 1971 and has remained in the family since, evolving over time into the many offerings we have today. Breathtaking views over Bathurst’s paradiscal, big-sky, pastoral country and extensive area make the property the ideal location for weddings, events and private farm stays. The diverse nature of the property combines rural charm with a twist of luxury across all business offerings
The History
Thellie and Barry Renshaw were local Angus cattle farmers, and butchered their own meat to provide for the area. In 1971 they bought the land BoxGrove is known for, and not long after in 1972 commenced the build of log cabins to serve as B&B accommodation and an event space for the local community.
In 2012, Thellie and Barry handed over the farm to granddaughters Kayla and Melissa. Now, with Kayla’s husband Ben, they follow in their families footsteps to continue what they began. Since 2012, the property has seen the success of hair salon “Luxe”, purpose built wedding venue “Barn”, bespoke vineyard and wine brand “Vino”, and now, luxury eco-studios “Rest”.
